Youth Art Classes:
January - May 2019
Youth art classes are geared toward elementary and school age people who are interested in creative expression and visual arts. No particular skill or experience is required. The classes are focused on the process of developing skills and interest rather than always creating a beautiful product. {Although that does often happen, too!} We will do a bit of art appreciation and learn a bit about artists before we jump into creating at each class. The classes are very small and allow for individualization and personalized attention. Each six week session is $90 and includes all materials and instruction.
Classes are held on Monday evening, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
The location of my classes has changed! These little gatherings are in my home: 556 Parkview Ave., Barberton OH 44203
Family members are welcome to hang out in the living room while we create around the dinning room table!
Impressed by Impressionism and Post impressionism: January 7 - February 11, 2019
I love the impressionist and post impressionist painters! These periods of art often provide a range or recognizable pieces and familiar artists that make the work accessible for all of us. We will explore some of the best known work, as well as a few lesser known artists. We will use pencils, pastels, and watercolor and acrylic painting during this session.

In this session we will travel away from European and American art, and we will explore some of the amazing artists of the past and present in Asia, Africa, and South America. We will use watercolor, ink, pencils, and found objects to create art, based on the inspiration of artists who have had a global impact.

I have space for private art lessons on several Thursday evenings each month. Lessons are $25/hour, or bring a friend, and each will pay just $20 per hour.

Art Inspired by Nature: April 1 - May 6, 2019
I find my greatest creative inspiration in the natural world, and so have many other artists. We will look at a natural still life to draw, color, and create several studies of the same piece. Then we will jump into creating collage and fiber art, using elements of the natural world.

We will design and create items that will be perfect for a personal sacred space on a shelf, table, or desk. We will create artwork to display on a mini-easel, paint rocks, and add bits of inspiration that that will remind you of your purpose and intention as you move through your daily life.
