Black Friday Brunch and Inspiration Market

I'm hosting an event this Friday that is going to beautiful, simple, gentle and kind.  You will see a wide range of my creations that I'm offering for sale--some original art is ridiculously affordable!

I envision drinking warm beverages, chatting, and keeping the chaos of the season at bay.  If you have friends and family who might appreciate this, please invite them!

All profits will benefit FIFTY and TEN, the 2019 adventure that Sam and I have planned.

Inspiration Market

I am delighted and filled with anticipation as I prepare for the Inspiration Market that is coming up THIS Sunday, January 28! Here is the scoop about this unique event. . .

What is the Inspiration Market?
The Inspiration Market is an event I created to share my artistic and creative process with people who are curious about what I do.  It's a great chance to put some color and energy back into your life and get out of the house.  Forget it's winter in Ohio for just a few hours!

What will we do?
You will have a front row seat to see some of the newest creations I've made.  You will have time to make a bit of inspiration for yourself or someone else.  There will be tea and cocoa.  If you see something you love you will have time to shop.  You will also learn about creative offerings of workshops and classes that will be held over the next few months.  The afternoon will wrap up with a yoga nidra for anyone who wants to participate.

What does it cost?
It's FREE!  I want to share what I'm doing with as many people as possible this year.  I want to offer you the opportunity to create and inspire along side me.  I want you to experience how amazing it feels to create and be within a group!

Who should attend?
You!  And bring a friend or two.  If you have been a loyal supporter, this is a little way for me to say thank you.  If you're looking to add some more creativity, whimsy, or inspiration to your life--this is for you.  If we have never met, but your just curious about art or art in Barberton or living a creative life, please join us.

What is yoga nidra?
It's a form of deep relaxation.  Some people call it yogic sleep because it is so refreshing and restorative.  We will warm up and breathe together for a few minutes, and then participants lie down on a yoga mat, get comfy, and listen as I guide your attention around to different points on your body.  You simply lie on the mat and relax.  If you have a yoga mat, blanket, and small pillow, bring them.  I also have yoga mats to share.

Looking For A Fun Holiday Event--Host A Creativity Party

Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate the holiday season--Thanksgiving through New Years with family, friends, coworkers?  Why not a creativity party?!  It makes a great social event or even an extra special experience gift to give.  What a great way to make a memory together!

Altered Book Art Parties

I am pleased to present another option for all you art party fans--ALTERED BOOKS!  I've mentioned this before, but I doubt if you know how really cool this is.

Here is the general idea:

First,
I collect children's board books and gesso them (basically paint them white) so that the papers, stickers, paint, tape, and fabrics you select will stick.  I bring to your party bins of papers, stickers, and lots of treasures and ephemera!

Then,
You can create an inspirational piece for yourself or someone else filled with quotes and other inspirational words or sayings.

You can create a "blank" book in which to journal at some future point in time.

You can create a vision board of what you wish to invite into your life.

or how about a year in review with photos and other memorabilia?!

The options are really only as limited as your imagination!

And guess what I was doing this afternoon--white washing or applying gesso to some of the books I've collected.  I'm getting ready for your altered book party!  What a fun way to spend a winter afternoon or evening with your friends--reCREATING one of a kind books!

Gift Certificates Make Great Gifts

Why not give gift certificates from Brave Art to the people you love?  You can give so much more than a mass produced big box store item.

Week of Gift Giving Delights, Tuesday--Painting Parties

This week I am going to post a new special offering each evening, around 9 and 10 p.m.  This is the week when gift purchasing really seems to explode, and I wish to invite you to buy handmade, original, and local fine art and artisan work.  When you buy from me you are literally helping me pay my rent and utilities, feed my son, put gas in my car, and buy insurance.  In exchange you receive one of a kind handmade and inspirational pieces of art.  It's such a win-win!

I am also hosting a Studio Pop Up Sale this Friday evening, 5-8 p.m. at my studio in the Art Center on Tusc., 571 W. Tuscarawas Ave., Barberton, OH  44203.  Avoid the craziness of Black Friday and enjoy Christmas music and tea in my studio.

I will also be in my studio Saturday evening, 5-9 p.m., during Barberton's Christmas Light Walk. There will be merriment for people of all ages all around Barberton.  This event is busy, big, and bright!

Painting Parties

Painting Parties with me are one of the most fun and relaxed ways to celebrate anything with a group of your family or  friends.  You and I choose a date and a painting theme.  I show you one or more samples.  You provide the location and treats.  I provide the canvases, painting supplies, art instruction and positive support.

Painting parties are a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday, family reunion, gathering of friendship, girls' night out, team building, corporate event.  It can even be a fundraiser--ask for details.

Here are the general pricing guidelines:

11x14 canvas $25 per person
16x20 canvas $35 per person
{If at least 6 people pay to paint, the host or hostess paints for free}

I can provide a location for an additional $5 per person
If I travel more than 30 minutes I charge a small travel expense fee

Another Painting Party Option

I love doing painting parties!  If you missed my first post about Autumn Art Parties, you may find it HERE.

I decided to take the abstract autumn tree and really make it my own.  It has my fun whimsical style all over it.  You're welcome to copy this one, but I can offer lots of ideas on how to make it your own style.  In between steps of the painting process I will demonstrate some fun techniques you can practice and then decide if you want to apply them to your masterpiece.  If you're interested in booking a party with this type of painting or another, CONTACT ME to schedule your event!

This is a guided process piece, so each person's will look different
but will include similar shapes and colors!

I am absolutely delighted to offer 3 options for Fall Painting Parties!  I LOVE doing parties.  I am especially delighted when I can customize for for showers, office parties, fundraisers, birthdays, reunions, and other milestone events.

Here is how it works:

1.  You think about where and when you want to do your painting party and about how many people you want to invite.

2.  You contact me, and we set up a date, time, and the piece your group will create.

3.  You invite your friends {and if at least 6 other people paint, the host paints for free!}

4.  The day of the party your space looks the way you want it to look and you provide the food and drink you want to provide.

5.  I arrive a few minutes before the party begins with all of the supplies--canvases, paints, brushes, etc. and I bring one case of my smaller creations that are available for your guests to purchase.

6.  Your guests arrive, pay me, and get comfy.

7.  We paint!  I take you step by step through the process, suggest alternatives, and support your guests' creative process.  I assure you that all party goers will experience success with any of these pieces.

8.  We clean up and talk about how much fun this was and who will host the next party!

I'm so pleased to announce that I am available to do Art Parties and Trunk Shows in your home with your friends!

TRUNK SHOWS
Make holiday shopping a piece of cake for you and your friends.  Invite friends and tidy your house and make some snacks.  I will bring a wide assortment of art pieces {from a couple bucks to a couple hundred bucks} to your home.  I will show many original art pieces, suggest how items can be packaged together.  You and your friends will have one of a kind gifts to give this year and the satisfaction of supporting a local artist.
