This summer I have had great fun making a variety of very playful gardens!  This was the first of that set.  I'm looking forward to taking these techniques into the fall.

Amazing August 12: After The Rain

After the Rain

24 x 24 inches

acrylic on canvas

$185

I painted this at the end of a rain storm.  I did spray the water to get some color flow, but then I leaned it against a tree and giant drops of water fell.  Big spots were left in the color.  I like it!  I hope you do, too!

And here is why I'm offering a body of work {almost} every day this month. . .

As you may or may not know, the summer event that I was banking on {based on previous years' sales} to cover my expenses of this summer and early into the Fall was a bust.  {I did not even cover my costs.}  This has left me both super stressed and incredibly driven!

Everyday during the month of August I will post a piece of art that I made this summer that I am offering for sale!

Here is how it works:

The first person who send me a FB message, text, or email and makes payment arrangements will be the proud owner of a new piece of original art.  Some will be small, and some will be quite larger.  The price range will be $12 - $220.  So when you see a piece that tugs at your heart, respond quickly!

There are so many ways my amazing creative support community can help:

1.  Buy art
2.  Share and comment on FB posts
3.  Share this info with people who you think would appreciate my art
4.  Schedule a painting party or trunk show for this Fall.
5.  Schedule a show of some of my artwork at your workplace, church, or community organization  {Almost any space can become a temporary gallery!)

{Email me if you want one or more of these.}

I've loved experimenting with watercolor paint and micron pen this summer!  Today I'm offering 4 pieces that can be purchased individually, by twos, or all four.  When I tried to rotate the photo, lots of it was cut off, so I left it.  Please share with friends who might be interested!

Amazing August 6: Head Held High

Head Held High

8 x 10

acrylic on canvas

$70

(shipping for an additional fee)

The story behind the painting:

So I thought I had finished this one a couple weeks ago, but then I saw it when I was painting on Thursday.  It screamed to have a bit more added.  I listened.  It was only minor changes--a bit fuller bloom and blue in the stem.  What a difference those few strokes made!  It feels proud and regal now.

If it's calling to you, grab it now.

The story behind the painting:

Sam and I stopped in for a quick visit at Lakeside's Heritage Hall Museum.  It turned out to be much longer because he did a scavenger hunt.  I was a bit frustrated, but when I walked out I saw these amazing flowers to the side.  The inspiration for this pieces was born!

Where Have I Been? Where Am I Going?

Late Spring walks in the woods are about to be summer walks by the lake

It's been unusually quiet around here.
You might be wondering where have I been.

This Spring I worked for several months with adults with developmental disabilities.  They were doing creative work and learning some workplace skills.  It was rewarding.  I also had a kids' art class, a few art fundraisers and painting parties, yoga classes, and various other students.  But the trade off was that I had very little time and energy for my own creating.

I've had so many ideas brewing, but no time to manifest them.

Fast forward to summer, and a new direction.

Sam and I will be spending the summer in Lakeside, Ohio.  I will be working at the scrumptious shop, Miss Mercedes.  Sam will be more of a free range kid.  We both have projects to keep us creating and learning!

I have a few events brewing for summer, too.

July 14  Barberton Summer Art Mart, 10 a.m. on W. Tuscarawas Ave., Barberton, OH

July 20 - 22 Lakeside Plein Air Festival, Lakeside, OH

July 28 Wizardly World of Kent, Kent OH

I hope our paths cross this summer, and no matter where life finds you, know that I am always grateful for your support and encouragement.
