Spring Garden Art Show Reception

I'm so delighted to be sharing my work with the Spring Garden community in the school store.  I will be there for a reception on Friday morning, October 28, from 8:15 until the assembly begins at 9:00.  I will also be there to greet guests after the assembly for a few minutes (10:00ish - 10:30).

Stop in.  Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea from the school store.  Enjoy art.  Enjoy complimentary light refreshments.  Chat with me about art or life or whatever is on your mind.

The show is titled Boats and Blooms, and all of the work has been inspired by the natural beauty around me.  Here are some of the pieces on display:

I'm also pleased to offer some of the original watercolors from my Summer of Inspiration Series.  These simple watercolors include and inspiring quote that will motivate and inspire us to live our best lives.  These are super affordable at $20.  They also make lovely gifts.

If you're not familiar it is my son's school.  About once a month they have an assembly in which each grade shares something related to what they are learning.  Parents and friends are welcome to attend, and they are often hanging around from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m.  That is the reason for the unique time!

Handmade Holidays Children's Art Classes

I am so looking forward to the next round of kids' art classes.  We begin 2 weeks from this evening. It is going to be a lovely chance for kids to get messy, explore their creativity, and make items that they can give as seasonal gifts and decorations.  It's a wonderful time to focus on using our talents to enrich the lives others.

Children’s Art Classes

Nov. 7 - Dec. 12, 2016, 6 - 7 p.m. ($90/ 6 sessions)
at The Art Center on Tusc, 571 W. Tuscarawas Ave., Barberton OH  44203

We will create a variety of projects that will be suitable for gift giving and seasonal expression .  Our emphasis will be on recycling/upcycling.  Here is our tentative schedule:

1.  Papermaking Galore--make paper for cards, books, and garlands or ornaments
2. Tree to Book to Tree--transforming used books into trees and handmade paper into books
3. Printmaking--using everyday objects we will print wrapping paper, cards, book covers, and perhaps framable art
4. Felting and Sewing--basic techniques to create objects worthy of gift giving
5. Students’ Choice--we will either make newspaper rose wreaths or painted dishes or maybe both!
6. Wrap It All Up--we will finish any unfinished creations and wrap and package our goodies
